This is the ULTIMATE HD CSC for the Nissan 370Z and G37. The Z1 Heavy Duty Billet Clutch Slave Cylinder (HD CSC) is a direct fit solution for the failure-prone OE slave cylinder found in Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 models.
The factory plastic-bodied clutch slave cylinder is installed inside the bellhousing of the transmission and is mounted directly to the transmission case. Extreme heat coupled with contamination from wearing parts causes extensive wear and premature failure, causing the clutch to lose hydraulic pressure. Replacement of the slave cylinder isn't easy and requires the removal of the transmission for service. After analyzing the weak points of OE and aftermarket solutions currently on the market, Z1 engineers set out to develop the best solution, and we did.
When selecting the manufacturer for the Z1 HD CSC, we looked no further than the industry leader in high-performance clutch components, Tilton Racing. Tilton manufactures the highest quality clutch components available, using the same technology found in championship-winning Le Mans and IMSA race teams. Their racing pedigree and involvement with Nissan race teams dates back as far as 1971, when the first Nissan Z took America by storm by dominating the racing circuit all across America.
At the heart of this kit is a Tilton hydraulic release bearing, designed and produced specifically for Z1's clutch kit for the Nissan VQ35HR and VQ37VHR applications. Tilton's clutch hydraulics are designed, manufactured, and assembled by Tilton's quality control staff at their US headquarters. Proprietary low-friction surface treatments aid in the long-wearing durability and high performance while their unique monoseal technology provides proper seal tension for a consistent feel and long-lasting reliability. This proprietary slave cylinder bolts directly to the factory transmission cover without the need for modifications or special brackets. Additionally, stainless steel clutch lines are included to further improve clutch pedal feel and hydraulic performance.
Our heavy-duty CSC is designed for pressure plates with flat profile diaphragm springs and has a contact diameter of 68mm. This CSC supports a complete clutch stack height of 78mm-86mm (including flywheel) and is best paired with a Z1 clutch kit. If you do not have a Z1 clutch you MUST ensure your stack height is within this range before ordering. See our guide on measuring clutch stack height below. Because of stack height limitations, the Z1 HD CSC is NOT compatible with the stock dual-mass flywheel.
