Skunk2 Honda Civic/CRX (88–91) - Front Lower Control Arm - Spherical Bearing

Skunk2 Racing’s Spherical Bearing Front Lower Control Arms for the 1988-1991 Honda Civic/CRX maintains suspension geometry accuracy by eliminating ALL unwanted movement at the suspension pick-up points. The spherical bearing design allow the control arm and the shocks to pivot freely about single points without any of the slop or binding inherent with ALL elastomer style compensator bushing designs, resulting in razor sharp handling with precise feedback.

Skunk2 Lower Control Arms are machined from new high strength forged alloy steels cores. Precision CNC machined bearing cups are then pressed into the arms and TIG welded in place before a final corrosion resistant zinc plating is applied. The spherical bearings are pressed into the bearing cups and secured with clip locks allowing for easy serviceability. Each bearing includes a set of high misalignment bushings that allow for bind free movement throughout the widest possible range.

Though we recommend this suspension for dedicated track cars, it is fine to use spherical bearing suspensions on street cars as long as it understood they have inherently higher NVH characteristics, and the suspension pick up points should be regularly inspected.
