Bringing a Nissan 350Z Back to Life After Eight Years in Storage

Some workshop visits come with a personal story behind them. Bob recently met Adrian, who brought his dad’s Nissan 350Z to Tarmac Sportz in Derby after it had spent eight years in storage.

Adrian’s dad had been ill, and Adrian is now bringing the car back to life for him. It’s a project with a real family connection, and we’re pleased to play a part in getting this much-loved 350Z back into shape.

A Refresh Underneath

This visit focused on the underside, suspension and drivetrain, with our workshop team fitting:

Aluminium undertray

Lower control arms and lower ball joints

Whiteline anti-roll bar and drop links

Banana arms

Z1 Motorsports differential brace

It’s a substantial list of work beneath the bodywork, marking another step forward in Adrian’s plans for his dad’s car.

Suspension Gets Some Attention

The lower control arms, lower ball joints and banana arms formed a key part of the suspension refresh, alongside the Whiteline anti-roll bar and drop links.

When a car has spent years tucked away, looking underneath is just as important as looking after its appearance. Suspension arms, bushes and joints all deserve careful inspection when deciding what needs attention.

For Adrian’s 350Z, this visit provided an opportunity to tackle several components together and make progress on the project.

Aluminium Undertray and Z1 Differential Brace

Beneath the engine bay, we fitted an aluminium undertray, while the rear of the car received a Z1 Motorsports differential brace.

These parts might not be the first things you notice in a photograph, but they’re very much part of the care and work going into this 350Z.

Bringing the Car Back for His Dad

For Adrian, this project is about doing something special for his dad. After his dad’s illness and eight years with the car in storage, he’s putting time and care into bringing the 350Z back to life for him.
